Drs. Newman, Blackstock, and Associates would like to wish everyone a big welcome to 2010. Are you and your family due for an eye examination? Contact one of our locations to schedule an appointment. If your insurance provider has changed, please notify us as your benefits have likely changed. When contacting our offices, you may have noticed a change in the phone system. To better help our patients, we have established a central appointment desk; please make sure you have all your insurance information ready. Call your preferred office as usual: to schedule an appointment press 1, and to speak directly with the office you dialed, press 4. We are continuing our 50% OFF second pair promotion into 2010. Need a pair of prescription Sunglasses, Reading glasses or Back-up Pair? The promotion is on 2nd pair of eyeglasses for same patient. Please ask our staff how this discount can help you. Through the efforts of our 6 Doctors of Optometry and in conjunction with Alcon Pharmaceuticals, we would like to announce that our practice has acheived status as a Dry Eye Center of Excellence. Our initial goal is to provide you maximum relief from your dry eye symptoms (ranging from over-the-counter lubricants to therapeutic treatments). Once your dry eye symptoms begin to improve it is then time to "roll up our sleeves" and work with you to discover the cause of the underlying disease. This is because dry eye is chronic (is not going away by itself) and progressive (will get worse with time). Please ask our staff and your doctor how me may be able to help you acheive greater comfort. 3-D Movies require 3-D Vision: Traditional Theater 3-D Movies required two projectors to present the image that you view through the supplied frames. Today's newest technology presents the movie image from a single projector, which is believed to reduce eye fatigue and strain. To properly view a 3-D Movie, you need to have good quality vision in each eye. Some people are going to develop eye fatigue, headaches, or blurred vision after watching a 3-D movie. If you or a relative, especially a child, experiences any unusual symptoms following one of these movies, Please call to schedule an appointment. While a simple eyeglass correction might be enough, your problem could be more complicated. Small inconsistencies in how well your eyes team and work together might lead to your symptoms. Often these inconsistencies can be corrected with glasses or a regimented therapy program to improve your visual ability and perception.  At Drs.
