| Dr. Michael A. Johnson graduated from The College of Wiliam and Mary with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (1999). After leaving Williamsburg, VA, Dr. Johnson attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and graduated in 2004. While in optometry school, he received the Clinical Excellence Citation. In 2003, Dr Johnson parcipated in a Student Optometric Service to Humanity mission; the trip provided eye care services to an underserved population in Tijuana, Mexico. After graduation, he returned to Virginia to complete a Veterans Affairs Optometric Residency in Salem.
Dr. Johnson is currenlty practicing with Drs. Newman, Blackstock, and Associates, Optometrists, P.C. where he practices General Optometry with an emphasis on disease treatment and diagnosis, contact lenses, dry eye disease, and routine vision care services. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and the local Southwest Virginia Optometric Association, and is also a candidate for Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Johnson is currently serving as a committee member with the Roanoke Jaycees. |
